BMU

BMU

A BMU or Building Maintenance Unit is a Suspended Access Equipment (SAE) consisting of a working platform suspended from a suspensión rig (generally a trolley unit) with hoist operating.

Single jib - Model S1

The S1 model Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) is a simple and affordable equipment for all cleaning and maintenance purposes on a building. It consists of a mobile traversing trolley with a fix or rotating spreader bar on a single jib, also enclosing the lifting mechanism and the operating controls. The cradle is suspended from the trolley by means of galvanized steel wire ropes and it is designed to carry two people together with their tools and cleaning materials.

Double jib - Model S2

The S2 model Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) is a simple and affordable equipment for all cleaning and maintenance purposes on a building. It consists of a mobile traversing trolley with a fix or rotating spreader bar on a double jib, also enclosing the lifting mechanism and the controls. The cradle is suspended from the trolley by means of galvanized steel wire ropes and it is designed to carry two people together with their tools and cleaning materials.

Telescopic jib - Model T

The ST model Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) is an equipment which consists of a mobile traversing trolley with a fix or rotating spreader bar on a telescopic jib (2 or more telescopic elements), also enclosing the lifting mechanism and the controls. The cradle is suspended from the trolley by means of galvanized steel wire ropes and it is designed to carry two people together with their tools and cleaning materials.

Travelling systems

Depending on the project specifications, the BMUs could traverse by means of steel wheels on steel tracks (standard normalized steel profiles) placed on the roof or by means of Vulkollan (rubber) wheels directly running on a concrete slab and using a perimetral guide profile to allow a smooth motion of the equipment. If necessary, the BMU could also be anchored at a fixed position on the roof (i.e. when there is not enough space to consider a track layout on the roof).

Optional devices

According to the project or client specifications we can provide our BMUs with following optional devices:

Auxiliary hoist

For only materials lifting. Lifting capacity up to 1.000 kg.

Reel cable

If required, BMU could be designed and manufactured including a reel for electrical cable supply.

Water tanks

For easy working, cradle could be provided with water tanks with different storage capacities.

Telephone

As an option, BMU could be equipped with a wire telephone connection between cradle and roof car.

Anemometer

An anemometer can be integrated in the BMU, so operators are aware they could not operate the BMU with wind speed conditions over a preset value.

Approach system

For accessing recess areas, the BMU can be designed with an approach system. This could be either a hydraulic approach system mounted on the cradle or a telescopic one, conceived for wider recess areas.

Customized craddle

Depending on project specifications, cradle can be customized as requested.

Hydraulic head

BMU could be equipped with a hydraulic head (luffing system) to better access façades and/or to hide the BMU behind a parapet when in parking position.

Special mast

According to project requirements, a special mast (telescopic) can be mounted on BMU to overcame high parapets and access façades and, furthermore, to hide BMU when in parking position.

Sky O.R.A. (online remote assistance)

PLC Data can be examined remotely by Sky Climber to trouble-shoot a potential electrical or control malfunction in the BMU. Time is saved by dispatching a technician to the site with the correct parts on the first visit.
